The Anti-Aging Treatment You Are Most Likely to Need When You Hit 30

By Shaminku Waltersoon

It's one of the nastier tricks that life likes to play on us. We keep hearing about how once we hit our 30s, that we are in for the best time of our lives. We've finally learned how to handle our boyfriends, we finally figured out how the whole of self-discipline thing works getting ahead at work, we have a good collection of jokes to use out on a date, and we have a great wardrobe. What's not to be happy about then? For one thing, this is when our first deep wrinkles begin to set in. And those little laugh lines around the eyes? This is about when they begin to turn into crow's feet. If you have been careless about staying out of the sun, brown spots and skin without elasticity may be here to haunt you. And what you say about thinning hair all of a sudden? Isn't that something that only men have to deal with? You need anti aging treatment in your 30s. And you will need it in all kinds of ways.

Let's start with those wrinkles. What brings wrinkles on when we get older? What happens is, our cells are no longer replaced with as much regularity once we hit 30, the way they used to be when we were younger. And women who smoke or who just don't see the point of a life spent out of the sun, find the wrinkles appearing a little earlier. Of course, you can use broad spectrum sunscreen to arrest the kind of damage the sun brings to your skin. But more importantly, there are ways you can use to turn the clock back on the damage that's already been done. Have you considered using retinoids? You get these under prescription; all you need to do is to apply a small quantity over your face every day, and it can do so much for your wrinkles. It's the new superstar in anti aging treatment for wrinkles.

Have you been noticing lately that the area around your mouth and nose is a little crowd of angry red bumps? You'd think they were insect bites, except that there is no pain. What you have is a sign of aging called perioral dermatitis. No one really knows what causes these bumps; but they do know what makes an attack worse - picking at them. The lucky thing about this little sign of aging is that you don't really need any specialized anti aging treatment for it. A regular prescription of antibiotics from your dermatologist should fix the problem right away.

What exactly do you do if you wake up one day and find staring back at you out of the mirror, a face that's all covered in brown splotches? It's usually pregnant women who have to deal with these; but it occurs in women over 30 who use oral contraceptives too. Sometimes, women just get this for no reason. It's called melasma. If you haven't had it yet, you can consider yourself lucky and work on ways to keep things that way. It's been known for a while now that heat from the sun is capable of triggering an attack. Using sunscreen to block UVA and UVB off your skin can really help. If you already have melasma, a light chemical peel is the only thing that's going to work.

Aging is tough, of course. The best anti aging treatment anyone has ever thought of so far has to do with the well-worn advice doctors have - stay out of the sun, exercise well and eat well.
